It's impressively roomy, and it earns high marks for passenger comfort and cargo-carrying utility. The midsize three-row SUV has become the de facto choice for growing families, and there is no shortage of choices. The 2020 Volkswagen Atlas gets high marks in Edmunds' rankings and will undoubtedly meet expectations for hauling people and cargo. Most notably in its list of strengths is space. Adults will have plenty of room in all three rows, and the cargo capacity is as usable in real life as its impressive figures on paper suggest. How comfortable is the Atlas? The Atlas is well suited to long-distance trips. Both back rows recline, and the second row slides. The ride feels settled and not floaty, and most small or large bumps will go unnoticed. Hows the interior? Space, space, space! That's what the Atlas is all about. Plenty of room in all directions up front, and the second row is wide enough for three adults across. Also the third row fits adults 6 feet or shorter with surprisingly little effect on comfort. The Atlas also gets high marks for its clever sliding second-row seat, with good rear visibility to boot. Hows the storage? If you value utility, the Atlas could rise to the top of your list. The Atlas dominates the midsize segment competition with 20.6 cubic feet of space behind the third row and a maximum of 96.8 cubic feet. The flexibility of the manual-folding flat seats is great. The Atlas offers a good amount of storage space for small items. The second row packs plenty of space, and there shouldn't be any issues fitting a rear-facing car seat there. The second row is also designed to tilt and slide with a seat installed.

      Excellent Value For Money

      We have owned 2 VW Atlas vehicles. 2019 SE w/ technology and 2023 SEL R-LINE Black AWD. Both were excellent vehicles. Outside of regular maintenance like oil & filter changes and tires, they were 100% dependable vehicles. We were sold on the Atlas until the V6 was replaced with a 4 cylinder turbo engine. Which means our current Atlas will be our last Atlas. IMO a 4 cylinder turbo is severely underpowered for the size of the vehicle. I can easily see problems popping up well before 100k miles. IMO, VH, had a clear winner with the V6 SEL R-Line AWD Atlas, I was sold for life, but the it's a HARD PASS on a 4cylinder turbo model.…

      Amazing and super safe suv

      Amazing and huge suv- had someone pull out in front of us at an intersection at 50mph and it did it's job of sacrificing itself especially with my wife and 1 yr old kid in the car. no issues at all - did a few recalls while getting old changed and great in the snow! Inside is great esp with the coolest pano roof ever and the quad set setup- we use the trailer hitch for our hitch basket on the long trips and it keeps room for the kids and dogs. Sometimes even will throw the Yakima roof rack on and it's a super beast in storage with minimial wind noise and the sunroof stil opens even! Even though man in the us (like all the BMW SUVs) you can see and feel the German engineering vs the lighter weight competition. Gas Mileage is prob it's weakest spot but it's a huge suv.…
