Compare New Volkswagen SUVs in Sarasota, FL

Volkswagen SUVs represent compelling options in their respective segments. They deliver comfortable accommodations, excellent amenities, and plentiful practicality. They also exhibit bold styling and enjoyable drivability. With nameplates in the most popular classes, Volkswagen offers SUVs to suit many needs and preferences. But which one is right for you? To help you determine the best fit for your Sarasota-area drives, here's a quick look at what each has to offer.

Volkswagen Taos

The VW Taos is a stylish and spacious small crossover. While it technically competes among subcompact crossovers, that designation belies its impressive versatility. The Taos offers inviting accommodations with cozy seats, modern design details, and ample passenger room in both rows. It reserves 28 cubic feet for cargo behind the second row, expandable to 65.9 with the rear seats folded.

Standard technology highlights include Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, an 8-inch digital gauge cluster, and IQ.DRIVE driver aids like collision mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, and Active Blind Spot Monitor. Available upgrades include heated and ventilated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity entry, and a panoramic sunroof.

Volkswagen Tiguan

The VW Tiguan is a unique crossover on the border between the compact and midsize segments. As one of the few SUVs its size with an available third row, it's great for families who need additional seatbelts and still want city-friendly maneuverability. Front-wheel drive models have seating for seven, while 4MOTION® all-wheel-drive models trade the third row for a five-passenger layout and extra cargo capacity.

The Tiguan comes standard with heated front seats, proximity entry, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a suite of IQ.DRIVE technologies. Available upgrades include ventilated front seats, driver memory, a 360-degree camera, and automated parking assistance.

Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport

If you're seeking generous passenger and cargo accommodations but don't need three-row seating, consider the VW Atlas Cross Sport, a midsize five-seat crossover with refined accommodations and abundant practicality. The Atlas Cross Sport received a midcycle refresh for the 2024 model year, boasting upgraded performance and premium standard features often reserved for higher trim levels.

Under the hood, a new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (269 horsepower, 273 pound-feet of torque) delivers improved torque, acceleration, and efficiency over the previous VR6. The VW Atlas Cross Sport is impressively equipped with standard features like heated and ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro instrument panel, and a new 12-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

Volkswagen Atlas

If you're seeking capacious passenger and cargo accommodations and do need additional seatbelts, you'll appreciate Volkswagen's flagship SUV, Atlas. This midsize three-row crossover provides ample room for all occupants, even in the very back, and a cavernous storage area measuring nearly 100 cubic feet behind the front row.

The VW Atlas received a midcycle refresh for the 2024 model year and has configuration options mostly similar to its two-row sibling, the Atlas Cross Sport. However, the VW Atlas offers a new Peak Edition equipment group. Available for SE w/ Technology and SEL trim levels, this package includes 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, black exterior trim, ruggedly styled bumpers, leatherette upholstery, and a panoramic sunroof.

Volkswagen ID.4

The first VW built on the innovative MEB EV platform, the VW ID.4 delivers the comfort, practicality, and drivability of a refined compact SUV with the future-focused advantages of electric propulsion. The ID.4 offers rear-wheel-drive (201 horsepower) or dual-motor all-wheel-drive (295 horsepower) setups, while a 77-kWh battery enables an EPA-estimated 245¬ to 275 miles of range, depending on the configuration.1 There's also a value-oriented "Standard" model, using a smaller 60-kWh battery (EPA-estimated 208 miles) in exchange for a lower price point while remaining nicely equipped. Standard features include heated front seats, a 12-inch touchscreen, an automated parking system, IQ.DRIVE safety technologies, and Adaptive Cruise Control.

For 2024, ID.4 models with the 77-kWh battery receive more potent performance, increasing horsepower to 282 with RWD and 330 with AWD. The new motors are also more efficient, achieving an EPA-estimated 263 to 291 miles of range, depending on the configuration.1
